This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of organist but rather organist I enjoy listening to.

Theatre Organists

Jelani Eddington

Jelani is one of my favourites, I have all his CD's. I have been lucky to hear him live at the Capri in Adelaide. I tried to catch him at the Sanfilippo Wurlitzer when I was in the states but the concert was cancelled.

Jelani has a number of CD's  and 3 books on playing the Theatre Organ all available from his web site.
Jelani by day is an lawyer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Pierre Fracalanza

Steinway artist, extraordinaire, Pierre has been wowing audiences both live, and on the net, ever since he constructed his own VTPO rig a few years ago. Since then he has become the leading global exponent of the 'virtual virtual' pipe organ paradigm. That is a recording of a VTPO output recorded direct to hard disk instead of acoustically.

Tony Fenelon

I have been listening to Tony on both electronic and theatre organ since the late 70's. I have seen Tony live on both types and then while visiting Nethercutt Museum in L.A. heard a virtual Tony playing Wurlitzer 4/74. I surprise the guide by telling him we were listening to Tony Fenelon after I recognized the arrangement of Ghost Riders in the Sky. You can purchase or listen to Tony on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube music and Deezer.

I have a long list of theatre organist I listen to from the greats through to our current organist touring the world. Their are a lot of albums available for purchase from iTunes, Amazon Music, YouTube Music or can be listened to on Spotify, Amazon and Deezer and others.

Electronic Organ Organists

Glenn Derringer

By far the best electronic organist I've heard. Was Wurlitzer's product manager and world wide concert artist 1969 to 1981

I was lucky enough to see him live twice on his visits to Australia.

Follow this link to Glenn's page for all the information on his recording and demonstration cassette tapes.

Joey DeFrancesco

I love jazz organ too and listen to all the greats including Charles Earland, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, Jimmy Smith but my favourite is Joey DeFrancesco. Born into a jazz musician family Joey was playing Jimmy Smith songs by age 4.

Joey has a lot of CD's available or can be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon and others. You won't have any trouble finding Joeys material on YouTube.

Lachy Doley

Never heard of him! well he's an Australian on the way up on the world wide seen. Rock and Blues screaming C3 Hammond organ and Leslie will send tingles down your spine. Also of interest is his 60's Hohner Clavinet fitted with a whammy bar.

Albums available everywhere and from his web site a free "Best Of" album. Lots of YouTube videos also to watch.

Klaus Wunderlich

Klaus needs no introduction as he would be the worlds most know organist. I think I have just about every album of his and I'm a regular listener. You can download or listen to him on every platform but only a small amount is available in digital or CD format. Everything else is on LP records so their are lots to purchase on Ebay etc.

Klaus talks about the way German TV wanted him to play Tico-Tico

Ady Zehnpfennig

I was introduced to Ady through Wersi's selection of artist preforming for them. He has a number of CD's but some of his earlier recordings are only available via LP records. My favourite album is Sound Sensation! you can hear some of the songs on the YouTube video on the left.

Alan Haven

English organist with an interesting technic. Designed his own organ in conjunction with Crumar for some of his recordings. Also played JVC organs for a time. Listen to some of his Organ Show with YouTube video on the left.

Buddy Cole

Buddy is very skilled at both Theatre and Hammond organ playing but also at the piano as well. Known for his exceptional theatre organ arrangements you will find him and his arrangements being played on YouTube.

Tony Fenelon

I have been listening to Australian artist Tony Fenelon on both electronic and theatre organ since the late 70's. I have seen Tony live on both types.

You can purchase or listen to Tony on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube music and Deezer.

Cliff Bingham

Australian Theatre and Thomas Organ concert artist. Made two demonstration Tapes for  Stedfast Enterprises (Thomas organ importer for Australia) in 1971 & 75. You can listen to them both here. Part of a set of 8 tapes.

Curt Prina

I first heard of Curt through his demo recording for Wersi. CD available but again early material only on LP records and nothing on digital platforms.

Ethel Smith

Known as The first first lady of the Hammond organ. Essential listening here. Appearing on TV shows, Movies and movie reels promoted the Electronic organ. Cd's and downloads available online.

Franz Lambert

Another very well known Wersi concert artist. CD's available on all platforms. His earlier works only available on LP records. Like Klaus Wunderlich concentrated on pops songs of the day.

Harold Smart

Harold a Thomas organ endorse has some nice arrangements using the moog synthesizer. Available on some platforms as digital downloads. Also played Hammond organs for a time.

Lenny Dee

I grew up with this album and don't know why my parents bought it but I always played it. Effective use of a delay pedal inserted into the audio signal. Lots of digital downloads on all platforms. Lots on YouTube also.

Walter Wanderley

Walter proved you don't have to use tremolo to get a great Hammond organ sound. Lots of material available almost any platform.

Don Reeve

Not a lot of albums but always enjoyed this one. Uses the percussion through the Leslie to get the "Don Reeves Sound" Listen to him on YouTube or buy his LP's from Ebay.
