The 445 series
of organs featured the Syntha - Solo synthesizer that offered
preset solo sounds from the Orbit III on the larger 3
keyboard instrument. Sounds like Mod1, Mod2, Tuba, Trombone,
Clarinet, Guitar, Violin, Accordion, Harmonica, Banjo, Electric
Piano, Vibes, Clock and Chimes. Because of this it was a popular
choice and any easy up sell.
I use this board to expand my
choice of sounds for my 950TA and 630TA organs. The Violin is
voiced at 4' where on the 950 is at 8'. Add a 16' pitch shift and
you have cello, viola and violin at your disposal. The Tuba at 32'
is very usable but is extra nice octave shift to 16'. The banjo
is doubled up so turn one into a mandolin. Add a switch to the
razz control of the trombone and you can add the razz effect to
any sound. Same with the pitch delta control of the harmonica. The
accordion is also doubled up so change the tone and change it to a
musette.
The trombone can be used in
to ways. Played add space between notes activates the razz effect
but play it legato and it just slides between the notes without
the effect.
The clarinet is very usable
and its tone can't be made from the sine wave footages on the 950.
Add a octave switch to the bass clarinet on the 950, then
you have clarinets at 32',16' and 8'. |
